WHAT ARE THE ACCREDITATION CRITERIA OF SACS?

In order to meet accreditation, a school must demonstrate compliance with 57 indicators under the SACS-AdvancED Accreditation Standards for Quality Schools. The seven standards are:

• Vision and Purpose

• Leadership and Governance

• Teaching and Learning

• Documenting and Using Results

• Resources and Support Systems

• Stakeholder Communication and Relationships

• Commitment to Continuous Improvement

The entire process is geared to helping schools improve. The accreditation process has a five-year cycle that includes:

• An Internal Review

• An External Review

• A Two Year Progress Report

• Community-Wide Engagement in the Improvement Process
